Arthritis is the inflammation of one or more joints. Many people experience arthritis pain and stiffness that gets worse as they get older. Arthritis can occur in any joints, though most people associate it with the hands. Midfoot arthritis can occur due to a sprain or trauma in the mid foot that causes a dislocation or fracture. Midfoot arthritis can also occur due to a degeneration of the cartilage from normal wear and tear and repetitive motion.

There are different types of therapy used to treat mid foot arthritis. Physical therapy, injections, orthotics and braces can all be used to improve mid foot arthritis. If these more conservative methods don’t provide relief or if the condition worsens, a surgical correction may be required.
